![]() Meet Mike Smith My name is Mike Smith. I was raised in a family involved in real estate. My father has been a real estate broker since the early 60's. As a kid I helped clean, paint and manage rental units and have experienced my fair share of moves during my life time. My life partner is also from a real estate family. Her mother has been a real estate broker since the 70's. We have both lived and experienced the industry from all different aspects being that our parents and we are also investors in real estate. ![]() My son after a great day fishing on our boat in the ocean. I am a father of three children that I adore and spend much time with. They are very active in their different interests: fishing, sports and showing their 4H animals. We all love the outdoors especially if we are yachting in the San Juan's or Canadian Gulf Islands. If it involves water you can find us there! We spend our free time camping, boating, fishing, white water rafting, flying kites at the coast, hiking, walking and many other family activities. ![]() Both of my daughters enjoyed training and showing their 4H animals. They learned many life lessons during the process and met some interesting and great people. ![]() When I began in real estate in 1987, I was trained to do business the traditional transactional way most Real Estate Companies operate (Work your deals as a numbers game, the more deals you do the more money you make, just keep rolling forward!!!). After many years of the churn and burn mentality I realized that even though I provided my clients with great deals and worked very hard for them, they seemed to be less than pleased with the overall service they received. This concept was a great way to make a lot of money, but it left me feeling very unfilled by my work because my customers were not as satisfied as they could have been. It was not until I realized that this is a people business, not a deal business, did my business and level of service really start to matter to me. I have spent many years educating myself in all aspects of real estate and am considered to be very knowledgeable in the area of real estate. Now it was time to build and implement the systems necessary to provide a level of service to my clients that would make them then want to continue to do business with me for other reasons other than just good deals, and refer their friends, family and co-workers. (If I were a doctor one could say I needed to change my bedside manner.) I realized that I derive pleasure from helping my clients obtain financial security through real estate investing. I just needed to focus a little more energy in the following areas to provide an exceptional service to my clients:
